She loves Babson Arabian Horses!!!.I was talking to Stacey Mayer from www.awhitehorse.com. She called me to tell me that she loves Babson Arabian Horses. She said she looks at my site often. Isn't that exciting.
Check out her site. She does some wonderful equine art. I am an artist my self and am not easily excited by most art I see, but Stacey's art has captured a feeling and spirit of the horse that is very unique. Also there are many interesting places to go on her site. I am going to spend some time studying what she is doing. Here is a picture I took of her site of a piece of her art
Babson Arabians Run Free
by kim cooper on 07/03/10
You arrive at Axiom Babson Arabians near Branson Missouri. As you
reach the top of the hill where the farm is located you are surprised to be greeted by Babson horses that are roaming loose on the property.
.At Axiom Arabians the horses for the most part run free with out fences. Located on top of a hill and far off from the road mares and foals are allowed to graze 25 acres with out fences.
Guests are surprised to see loose horse and often comment at how friendly and relaxed the horses are. We have noticed that the foals develope very well both physically and mentally when allowed to roam loose and run free. It is amazing how confident the foals become and how strong and muscular they are. It seems as if freedom to roam increases development and possibly even size.
The horses are also fed our special grain mix twice daily. We mix our own feed which consists of oats, alfalfa pellets, soy bean meal, wheat bran and vitamins. This feed is mixed indiviually for each horse and mixed with water.

Babson Mare Arrived
by kim cooper on 03/15/10
The beautiful and rare Straight Babson mare Charabs Amora has arrive at our farm. She is joining her daughter Char Iswid Malaka who is the only straight Babson daughter of the SBE stallion Char Iswid.
Malaka arrived last year and is already in foal to our SBE stallion HR Hasims Legacy for a September foal. Amora will also be bred to Legacy in a couple months after she adjusts to her new home.
These horses will produce foals that pure in strain Seqlawi Jidran IBN Sudan 4 generations in their pedigrees as well as foals that are either black or dark in color.
Amora has incredible flowing movement and lightness on her feet. She is very arab. Tail straight up, nose up and snorting. Very animated.
The Babson Arabian horse
by kim cooper on 03/12/10
Even though the Straight Babson arabian is bred from only a specific small group of horses imported by Henry Babson there is still alot of variation in the way the horses look. Breeding two horses together can create a different type of foal each time.
There are certian things that run true in Babsons. They have great legs, solid bodies and wonderful temporments. Generally they are very consistant because of the close breeding group they come from. This makes breeding them fairly easy, yet there is opportunities for breeding for an even better horse with good breeding choices.
We are very excited about having a foal coming this fall from our two SBE horses, HR Hasims Legacy X Char Iswid Malaka. Not only do their pedigrees emphasis horses like Negem and Faddan but they are both pure in strain 3 genetations Saqlawi Jidran IBN Sudan, this will make the foal 4 generations pure. in this strain. Also the physical traits that Legacy and Malaka both have are very similar. They both have wonderful and extreem conformation. It will be a long summer waiting for this baby.
Babson Arabians a Breeding Success
by kim cooper on 03/04/10
To night while feeding the horses I began to think about how breeding the Henry Babson and W.R. Brown imports is really a no brainer.
What I mean by that is how can you go wrong breeding these horses that are bred from a very elite cream of the crop selection of horses that where imported from Egypt.
All of the Straight Babson and Babson with Brown horses being from these few imports can't be anything but fine horses. You are assured so many good qualities when you breed them. Good temporment, fabulous legs, well proportioned, mostly dark colored, very fine features, athletic, smart, friendly, beautiful.
Every Babson and Babson with Brown horse has significant value. I wouldn't want to have or breed any other horse. With the Babson you have it all.
I think at one time Henry Babson sold some sort of a innovative milking machine. Well he certianly knew how to extract or seperate out the best of the best of the Egyptian arabian.
Feeding Your Horse
by kim cooper on 03/01/10
Well, there must be a million ways to feed a horse. What do you feed your horse?
I have always been a mixer of feed. In the past I used to mix a couple different premixed feeds together. I also have always tried to experiment with suppliments.
A couple years ago I started to get completely away from premixed packaged feed and I began buying the basic ingredients and mixing my own formulas.
Recently after struggling with mathmatical formulas about what my horses are actually getting in the feed, I found a website that can figure all that out for me at the click of a button.
The site is www.feedXL.com
It is a subcription, but there are alot of options for signing up. For instance you can sign up for a month and try it out and then if you like it sign up for a year.
There are gobs and gobs of products and feeds to choose and mix your formulas. Also the neat thing is that if you are using something that is not on their list just email them the info and they add it to the list in just one day.
If you can't understand something email them and they email you back and are very helpful.
I did both of these things so I know from experience.
It is a cool site and a great way to start knowing what you are feeding your horse and how much you are feeding your horse.
You might find out you can actually save some money on feed too.
Let me know if you have heard of the site or if you try it out.
Babson Arabian horses / Sport Horses
by kim cooper on 02/24/10
Babson Arabian Horses are excellent sport horses and have wonderful temperaments. They are super smart and easy to train. I do alot of ground work with the horses and find that just showing them something a few times usually is all they need to learn.
Many Babsons have excelled in the show ring. If you look into the pedigrees of many or most Egyptian horses you are bound to see some Babson horses scattered throughout the pedigrees.
The Stud of Henery Babson was very successful in preserving the original 6 imports that he imported in 1932. After the farm was closed, Straight Babson was sought after and prices where very high. There where many breeders 25 years ago. Today there are about 300 Straight Babsons in the world. There are a handful of breeders that continue to breed these rare horses.
It is very fun to be one of these breeders and own these special rare horses. It is a good way to get to know other people and of course all the Babson horses. There are conventions to attend and seminars to go to. It is a blast.
Join us if you think you may want to do something very intriguing with horses.
People are Horses Too
by kim cooper on 02/21/10
I learn alot about people from horses. This morning while trying to determine how to deal with our 9 year old son. I realized that we need to both teach from reward and also teach from consequence. Sometimes give a reward for a behavior or job done and sometimes give a consequence.
Like horses, we want to teach our horses by sensitizing them to our requests as we train them, but also desensitize them as well so that they will not become overly reactive to everything.
If you always give rewards to you kids to get them to do things they will learn only to do something if there is a reward for them. Sometimes we have to do things not for a reward but to avoid a consequence.
You can learn about sensitizing and desencitizing horses by looking into any of the popular trainers. Dennis Reis, Clinton Anderson, Parelli, John Lyons, etc.
I have been very involved in the Dennis Reis program, but I am a fan of all the popular trainers. I have been to many of their events. Dennis Reis will be in Springfield Missouri March 5-6-7. This is near our farm. If you have time to see him it is well worth it. Call me and come visit us while you are in town.
I believe you can learn from all the trainers and indeed you can take what they each say and put things together in your own mind to even come up with your own insites. This is really fun when you get those special insites.
Basiclly all the trainers teach the same concepts.
I am going to figure out how to get pictures on this blog.

by kim cooper on 02/21/10
Tali is only about 7 weeks. It was a very nice day today and I cleaned the barn up from the long hard winter. Soon I will start to bring Tali in at night to get her ready to foal. Will be giving her her 5 way shot and worming her again. She is as big as a cow.
Tali is for sale. It looks like she will have to stay here untill she foals. She will be for sale with her foal at least for awhile. She is a beautiful mare and wonderful broodmare.
